I started blogging in 2010 when my nest first emptied. After raising four daughters as a SAHM, learning to live in an empty nest was quite an adjustment. Four years later, and I think I've finally gotten the hang of it. I've even, dare I say it, become quite fond of the quiet. The solitude. The freedom. Until the youngest moved back in for "just a year." Right.
Now that all that adjustment stuff is over, I'm coming into my 'woman of a certain age' voice. And I quite like that too. I was born and raised in the south but most probably would not call me a typical southern woman. Not because I don't appreciate the south but because I stray from the norm. I lean towards the liberal side of most things political and I'm not one to turn a 'blind eye and deaf ear' to the truth of the matter whatever that matter might be. Neither of those are what we consider southern traits.
Since all of these opinions and truths were building up to the explosive level, I thought it best to find an outlet for them. Thus, GRINDING MY GRITS was born. Here, I will express myself- get those thoughts/ideas/opinions out there in an effort to preserve what little sanity I have left. What I hope y'all will discover is a whole lot of fun and humor. What's life without enjoyment and laughing? Not much.
Yes, there will be times of passionate scolding but, for the most part, I will keep that upbeat, humorous side going. This is not meant to be a negative blog. We're just going to have some fun and express ourselves!
Enjoy this ride with me. If you dare. :)
